Back to the question – why such bad film like Ouija got a sequel or prequel? It is called box office grossing – so many film with bad rating but they got another sequel or a prequel – after people knew that this film will be a sequel – I asked and most of them said : “I think I’ll pass for this movie cause it just so bad” (most of my friends said that) or said : “Is it good? The first movie really suck! Bad to the bone.” At the first time for me, I said to myself, this movie got another sequel “MAN” but not after I search everything about this film and found out that this film will got new director and that is Mike Flanagan – and HELL I’m so excited for this movie cause I know Mike Flanagan made some incredible movies like Oculus – Hush – etc, so I need to watch this film on cinema.

Here’s the thing – when a producer make a film and the film got huge success in Cinema, box office or anything – the challenges are how the sequel gonna top the first film, that’s the hardest part, I watched lot of movies the first movie was great but sequel kinda sucks or cheap.
Exp : Aliens III, Blair Witch II, The Exorcist II, Transformers, TMNT (the first movie already suck though), Alice Through The Looking Glass, Spider Man III, etc.

It’s important though to know every single detail about a film, producer, director, cast and storyline.

The film begin in 1960’s setting and I really love the opening for the movie, looks classic and promising even they make the opening for the Universal Studios so classic – how the house – people or character they dressed like they’re back in time, their hairs and clothes really so good!

The story – A family who lost a father and husband, still can’t forget about it – so the mother decided to open a fortune teller in their own home to help another people even they’re fake cause they know losing someone kinda sad especially they haven’t move on yet. Long short story – the mother brought home Ouija  board if you play it you can talk to the dead and there’s some rules you have to follow : never play in the graveyard – never play alone – always say goodbye. When the mother try to use it, the spirit channel the spirit board and Doris can feel the presence of the spirit – talk to them or one of them. Suddenly Doris love to play the board alone and she thought that was her father but it’s not cause she doesn’t know that the spirits are angry spirits and the spirits use Doris as a vessel but they need to get close to her before taken over her body – finally the spirits take over Doris body and Doris acting weird – her  personality changes. When her sister Lina suspicious about Doris she asked for help to Father Tom but her mother doesn’t believe it till Father Tom explained everything to the mother that Doris has been taken over by angry spirits and they found out that their house was a graveyard where everyone dead in the basement, that’s why the spirits angry and you broke the rules (Doris played in the graveyard).

What I love about in this film – that they make the film  simple as  possible but when you found out that there’s another twist in the end you will be like “Oh my god – that’s why.” And in the film got a little bit jump scare even they aren’t scary as The Conjuring or any other horror film but I really love it, there’s no cheap acts in this film especially actress who played Doris, she was a major change for a character from innocent girl to twisted girl that talk weird things but still smile, that’s kinda creepy.
The most important things about this film was the improvement, the first movie was so bad the film got all negative reviews but the sequel turns out great, receiving positive reviews from anywhere, rotten tomatoes (82%) that is huge major changes from the first film, metacritic and etc.

This is one of the recommended horror film in 2016.

Note : if you don’t know or never watch Mike Flanagan films you should know this
– the actress who played Lina Zander also played in Oculus film another Mike Flanagan film in 2014
– Mike Flanagan’s wife also played in this film as the first client in the beginning of the film, name’s Kate Siegel and she also played in Hush film also Mike Flanagan film (great movie and the movie got 100% rotten tomatoes)

Another Theory :
– Did you know that The Exorcist 1979 and Ouija : Origins of Evil got the same plot?
A girl who play the spirit board, play alone and got possessed by angry spirits, the only different is in Exorcist the girl possessed by a Demon (Pazuzu Demon) and in Ouija got possessed by many angry spirits- And did you know that Exorcist and Ouija based on Los Angeles? If you don’t know check again, you don’t have to watch the whole film but you just can read it in wikipedia.

PS : Lin Shayne will appears in the end of the movie, in the post ending credits where’s lead to Ouija 2014
